Possible Gas and Electric Water Heater Issues

Here are common water heater issues and their possible causes.

No hot water: Often, relighting the pilot light resolves this issue. However, If the pilot light keeps going out, it may be caused by dirt or dust buildup. Try cleaning the area.
Hot water runs out: If your heater isn’t large enough to meet your family’s needs, replacing it or adding a second water heater is often the best solution.
Water isn’t hot enough: The temperature control might be set too low, or the thermostat may be broken.
Water is too hot: The temperature controls may be set too high or malfunctioning.
cloudy water with loud noises: Sediment builds up in the tank. Installing a water softener will help.
Rusty tank or water: A sign of corrosion inside the tank, a replacement is advisable before it causes a flood.

  Alma replaced our water heater. Not many places with give you a quote over the phone, but he does. He also explained the difference between brands/costs and why he uses what he does. I felt very confident in using his services after we talked. He was also able to come and replace our water heater quickly, called just before 10am, and it was installed before noon. Alma was very kind, worked quickly, and was very considerate (he kept his work boots outside without being asked).
